Anne of Green Gables

Perhaps one of our greatest icons, Lucy Maud Montgomery’s much loved red-head has won the affection of people around the world for generations. 2008 marked the 100th anniversary of the publication of Anne of Green Gables and was a year-long celebration of all things Anne.

Not to be missed during your visit to PEI is Anne of Green Gables – The Musical which is returning for its 44th season on the main stage at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

You can also take an interpretive tour of Green Gables, the setting that inspired LM Montgomery’s story, in the PEI National Park or travel back one hundred years in time to Avonlea Village where you can interact with the characters of LM Montgomery’s imagination as the story unfolds around you. For a more historical perspective, learn more about the author by visiting her birthplace in New London and the Lucy Maud Montgomery Heritage Museum in Park Corner.
